Since you're already making the trip out to Palm Springs to attend TEDActive, you might as well experience the best that the area has to offer.
The most obvious Palm Spring golf highlight is the PGA West, which boasts six courses, totaling 109 holes of championship golf designed by six golf legends: Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Pete Dye, Greg Norman, and Jack Nicklaus. Then, there's the Gary Player Signature Course at the Westin Mission Hills Resort, which was of course, designed by Gary Player, one of the golf's greats and is the only Gary Player course in the desert.
The Classic Club in Palm Desert was home to the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic for 2006 and 2007, and was designed by the Arnold Palmer Company with the input from the PGA Tour. Another Arnold Palmer course is housed at the SilverRock Resort, and this one happens to have the longest layout in Palm Springs and is one of the longest courses on the PGA tour. Also in the area is the Desert Dunes Golf Club, the first desert course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and voted one of the best public courses in Southern California.
